Blow-mould containers with more recycled HDPE.
Stable parisons, consistent walls, stronger parts.
Problems
Recycled HDPE fights the blow-moulding process. Low melt strength makes the parison unstable and prone to sag on large parts and thick sections, wall thickness drifts, and variable feedstock quality and MFR make it worse. On top of that, recycled material shows reduced mechanical performance and environmental stress cracking resistance (ESCR) — so converters cap recycled content and live with scrap and instability.

Opportunity

The parison-stability ceiling limits how much recycled HDPE you can run, and the ESCR gap keeps recycled material out of demanding, longer-life parts entirely. Both are direct limits on recycled content, on scrap rates, and on which products recycled material can even be used for — which is where the cost and sustainability gains are won or lost.
Higher PCR content displacing virgin resin, less scrap from unstable processing, and no virgin PE added just to fix melt flow. The ESCR gain also means recycled material qualifies for higher-value, longer-life parts it couldn’t reach before — more recycled content and a wider addressable market, at lower cost.
Proof
- Stable parisons even at high recycled content
- Reduced sagging in large parts and thick sections
- More consistent wall thickness, fewer collapses and defects
- Wider processing window for variable rHDPE quality
- No need for virgin PE to correct melt flow — no MFR drift, no colour impact
- Over 200% increase in ESCR lifetime before failure (ASTM D-1693)
- Optional OIT booster restores long-term oxidative stability
Reactive Recycling™ rebuilds polymer structure during extrusion, on existing equipment. Dosed as a masterbatch, it restores melt strength and stabilises the process — steadier parison formation, less sag, more consistent wall thickness, and far less sensitivity to variable feedstock. It corrects melt flow without adding virgin PE, with no MFR drift and no colour impact. Beyond processing, it also lifts mechanical performance: ESCR testing shows more than a 200% increase in lifetime before failure at higher dosage, opening recycled HDPE up to more demanding applications.
